Added balloon help and optimised a few routines, tweaked GUI and bits of other minor changes.
Released version 3.0 on14th October 1995.
Placed all text files as on-line help files (in case they get seperated from main program, and also to help users without Apple Guide). Re-compiled with Code Warrior Gold for PPC. Added option of prefixing stored numbers with '$' & '£' to force the tones to be played as either DTFM tones (by using '£') or C5 tones (by using '$') - this over-rides the check box setting, it also means stored numbers can mix types of tones by inserting a '£' or a '$' into the string. Altered dialog boxes and windows to indicate the program is PPC native. The program searches for the name stored in the Networking string resource in the Sysetm file and if found offers to use this as the registered user name the first time the program is run. Added the option to cancel changes to prefernce settings. Redial dialog now drops into background as dialing takes place, allowing users to see the keypad buttons, the redial dialog is then returned afterwards, allowing users to play further stored numbers. A 'QuickDial' menu has been added for users wishing to redial using a menu driven interface. Interface has been tweaked to improve performance and make the program more user friendly.
The program FoneTonePro expects the font Geneva (9 point) to be present. Though this is one of the default fonts in the Sysetm file, and should always be present.
This latest BlueBox has many new or improved features, including:
Improved GUI.
Updated Apple Guide File (System 7.5+).
Moveable main keypad window.
Preference's.
Now stores upto 10 numbers with names. (names are cropped to fit menu's).
Added the option to personalise the program.
Splash screen at start-up.
Final dialog box can now be disposed of with a mouse click (instead of waiting time-out).
Numbers can be deleted after each session, for security reasons.
Important:
The stored numbers are held in the resource fork, be aware of that when passing on copies. Delete all numbers you do not wish to be transmitted with your program. This program has *no* preference file, it is stored in the resource fork. This means the program can be quickly deleted without the need to delete the preference file.
But What is It?
In its most simplest form, the program is just a util for playing C5 or DTMF tones (could be used to dial friends if ya don't have a tone phone etc.). In its alternative form, the program can be used to pHreak with. The author in no way condones the actions of pHreakers, and provides this program solely as a demonstartion of the kind of tools a pHreaker would use. Read the Apple Guide File for more info on how pHreakers would use a program like this one. (Select the FoneTonePro from the balloon help menu, the FoneTonePro.Guide file must be in the same folder as the program and you must be running System 7.5 or above).
Is this program illegal?
NO. Only using it without the service providers written consent is illegal. Please check with your Telecoms. service provider before use.
